A Thai construction tycoon has surrendered to authorities to face charges of alleged negligence in connection with the collapse of a 30-story skyscraper that killed dozens of people in a powerful earthquake, police said. US Vice President JD Vance has extended an official invitation to Pope Leo to visit Washington following a "cordial" meeting at the Vatican, the White House has confirmed. Vance delivered a letter from President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, inviting the Pope to visit "as soon as he possibly can," according to White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt.

In a pivotal development in one of America’s most infamous criminal cases, Erik and Lyle Menendez have been resentenced to 50 years to life in prison, making them eligible for parole after more than three decades behind bars.
