Newcastle United's Fabian Schar delivered a dramatic 90th-minute equalizer to secure a 3-3 draw against Premier League leaders Liverpool on Wednesday. The Swiss defender's improvised finish from a Bruno Guimaraes free-kick stunned fans and salvaged a crucial point for the Magpies.

"To be honest, I was just trying to keep it in play and bring it into a dangerous area," Schar admitted post-match. "But obviously, great goal, a great finish."

Newcastle, currently 10th in the Premier League, has earned a reputation for troubling the league's top teams. Earlier this season, they held Manchester City to a draw and defeated Arsenal. Their resilience against Liverpool highlights their competitive edge, as they look ahead to their weekend clash with Brentford.

The result keeps Newcastle in contention for European qualification, while Liverpool maintains a narrow lead at the top of the table. Schar's unlikely strike will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the season's standout moments.
