Kansas City Chiefs defensive backs coach Dave Merritt has been charged with a misdemeanor count of domestic battery involving his daughter, according to court documents.

Merritt was arrested on April 22 in Overland Park, Kansas, and formally charged the following morning. A complaint filed by the Johnson County District Attorney's Office alleges that he unlawfully, knowingly, or recklessly caused bodily harm to a person identified as Drayah Merritt. She is listed on his official team biography as one of his two daughters, whom he shares with his wife Yolanda, along with three sons.

Fernando Mendoza has opened up about his conversation with Tom Brady ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, offering insight into the expectations that could await him if he joins the Las Vegas Raiders.

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Mendoza said he met Brady during an official pre draft visit with the Raiders. The 22 year old quarterback, widely projected to be the first overall pick, described the meeting as a valuable experience. He shared that Brady made it clear he would take a demanding approach as a mentor rather than offering constant reassurance. Mendoza said Brady emphasized that he intends to push him to improve and grow.

In the early hours in San Francisco, 49ers defensive lineman Keion White was injured in a shooting at Dahlia’s, a nightclub in the city’s Mission District. The incident took place around 4:00 a.m., just hours after the conclusion of Super Bowl LX. According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers arrived at the scene on the 1700 block of Mission Street to find White suffering from a gunshot wound to his left ankle.
