Manchester City manage to retain their position at the top of the table after a 0-4 dismantling of Fulham United at Craven Cottage. They set a new English record of 16 consecutive wins in all competitions against a fellow top-flight opponent. Manchester City did not waste any time as they took the lead in the 13th minute.

Josko Gvardiol picked up the ball on the left flank and orchestrated a neat one-two with Kevin De Bruyne as he majestically cut inside the box and coolly slotted the ball past Bernd Leno with a finish fit for a striker. As it was norm for the past few games, City asserted their dominance over the hosts.

Haaland managed to shoot the ball over the goal after a confusion ensued between Calvin Bassey and Leno. The lead was almost doubled by Bernado Silva and Phil Foden but Leno held his own in his post. After the break, Pep Guardiola’s men did not retaliate in any way as shortly afterwards they had another chance at goal from unmarked Manuel Akanji who only managed to sky the volley over the bar.

Fulham’s first attempt of the march was carved out when Adama Traore was substituted on and the substitute managed to find Rodrigo Muniz in the box but he only managed to flick the effort wide. This woke up something in the champions for two minutes later they were at the opposite end of the pitch.

Silva was bolting into the opposition box but stopped by a determined Palhinha but unfortunately the loose ball fell unto Phil Foden who nestled the ball into the bottom corner of the net. In the final 20 minutes, Silva lofted a cross into the box which was gratefully received by Gvardiol at the back post who squirmed his shot past Leno thus doubling his tally for the day.

In injury time we saw Issa Diop sent off for a second yellow card when he fouled Julian Alvarez in the box. The Argentinian coolly dispatched the penalty to round off a wonderful performance.
