Bruno Fernandes has made it clear—he will do things his own way. And based on his current form, Manchester United wouldn't want it any other way.

The Portuguese playmaker delivered another standout performance in United's 3-0 Premier League win over Leicester, scoring his fifth goal in a week and assisting two more. This followed his hat-trick against Real Sociedad in the Europa League, where he also provided an assist in the 4-1 victory that set up a quarter-final clash with Lyon. He had also found the net in last weekend's 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

His performance came amid recent criticism from former United captain Roy Keane, who suggested that "talent alone is not enough." However, Fernandes, who has 16 goals and 15 assists this season, was unfazed.

"I do things my way," said the 30-year-old. "Of course, it's not pleasant to hear criticism, but I use it as motivation. People always believe there's room for improvement, and I take that as a positive. I have huge respect for Roy Keane, and while not everyone will agree with how I play or lead, I accept that there's always room to grow."

With 31 goal involvements this season, Fernandes is among the most productive players in the Premier League, trailing only Mohamed Salah (54) and Erling Haaland (33). Since his United debut in February 2020, he has provided 80 assists, second only to Kevin De Bruyne (90) across all competitions in Europe's top five leagues.

Following United's routine win at Leicester, Fernandes reflected on the game: "We knew it would be tough, and we had to be at our best. In the first half, we made some mistakes in transition, but in the second half, we controlled the game and took our chances."

Speaking about United's recent progress, he added: "We showed improvement, but we need to keep pushing forward. We have important games ahead, and I want to contribute as much as I can with goals and assists."

United manager Ruben Amorim also praised his captain's work ethic and influence on the team.

"Bruno is special. He's always ready, recovers quickly, and consistently delivers. I already knew his quality, but what surprised me was his dedication in training. He's a true professional," Amorim said.

With Fernandes leading the charge, United will look to maintain their momentum as they push for success in both the Premier League and Europa League.
