Igor Tudor has left his position as interim head coach of Tottenham Hotspur after just 44 days in charge, following a brief and difficult spell.

The club confirmed that both parties agreed to part ways with immediate effect. The decision came shortly after a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest, a result that left Tottenham in 17th place and just one point above the relegation zone with only a handful of matches remaining in the season.

Tudor, who took over in February after the dismissal of Thomas Frank, was appointed on a short term deal running until the end of the campaign. During his time in charge, the team struggled to find form, losing five of their seven matches across all competitions and collecting just one point in the league.

His tenure began with a series of defeats, including a loss to rivals Arsenal, followed by setbacks against Fulham and Crystal Palace. In Europe, Spurs also endured a difficult night, suffering a heavy first leg defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

A late equaliser against Liverpool provided a brief positive moment, and the team managed to win the second leg against Atletico Madrid. However, they were unable to recover from the earlier deficit, and overall results continued to decline.

The loss to Nottingham Forest ultimately proved decisive, intensifying concerns about the club's position near the bottom of the table. Tottenham are now facing a real threat of relegation, something they have not experienced in decades.

Assistant coach Bruno Saltor will oversee training sessions for the remaining players, while the club works to appoint a new head coach in the coming days. Several members of Tudor's backroom staff, including goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and fitness coach Riccardo Ragnacci, have also departed.

Off the pitch, Tudor dealt with personal challenges, including the recent loss of his father, which led to his absence from media duties after his final match.

Statistically, the team struggled in both attack and defence during his tenure, with reduced goal output and increased pressure at the back. Injuries to key players such as James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski also contributed to their difficulties.

Tottenham will look to regroup during the international break as they prepare for a crucial run of fixtures aimed at securing their place in the top flight.
