The woman accused of opening fire near Rihanna's Los Angeles home has been charged with attempted murder and a series of additional felonies that could send her to prison for life.
Ivanna Ortiz, 35, appeared in court Tuesday after prosecutors said she drove to the singer's Beverly Hills residence and fired several rounds toward the property.
Officials allege the gunfire struck the house, a camper parked outside and another nearby home. Ten people were reportedly inside the residence at the time, including Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.
Investigators believe Ortiz traveled from Florida to California and parked outside the property before firing several shots and fleeing the area in her vehicle.
Police later located the car roughly eight miles away at a shopping center in Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities also recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the shooting and found multiple rifle shell casings at the scene.
A motive remains under investigation, though detectives say they are reviewing social media posts in which Ortiz appeared to reference the global pop star.
Court records show Ortiz faces one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling.
If convicted on all charges, prosecutors say she could receive a maximum sentence of life in state prison upon conviction.
Her arraignment has been scheduled for March 25 as investigators continue examining evidence and interviewing witnesses connected to the incident.
Officials said no one was hurt but the shooting placed many people in serious danger Sunday.
