Along with sharing the news of her pregnancy on Instagram, she posted a video of herself getting ready for a performance. "I'm going to need about nine months," she said in response to a question about how much time she needed.
Nelly, 49, is a father of four; he adopted Sydney and Shawn Thomas, the daughters of his late sister Jackie Donahue, after she died of cancer in 2005. He also has a son, Cornell Haynes III, 25, and a daughter, Chanelle, 30, with his ex-partner, Channetta Valentine. Ashanti's first child will be the unborn child of the pair.
Nelly and Ashanti had an intermittent relationship for over a decade before reportedly calling it quits in 2013. The singer and musician, Rasheeda, and the singer were seen together in Las Vegas last April, leading to speculations of a reunion. In September, they revealed their reunion on the Philo TV program Boss Moves with Rasheeda, stating they were both surprised and nothing seemed planned.
