Additional information about Justin Timberlake's DWI arrest has come to light. According to a criminal complaint obtained by NBC News, the *NSYNC veteran was placed under arrest on June 18 after it appeared that he was in an "intoxicated condition" during a traffic stop in Sag Harbour, New York.
According to a court document, Timberlake was pulled over at 12:17 a.m. for running a stop sign and failing to stay on the right side of the road while operating a grey BMW with Florida licence plates.
Sag Harbour Village officer Michael Arkinson filed a complaint stating that while conversing with the 43-year-old, officials saw that his eyes were "bloodshot and glassy" and that a "strong odour of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath." Timberlake had "slowed speech" and was "unable to divide attention" during the interaction, according to Arkinson.
Arkinson claimed that the Grammy winner refused to be tested for intoxication, reportedly telling authorities, "No, I'm not doing a chemical test," after the singer "performed poorly on all standardised field sobriety tests.".
Arkinson claims that he refused the test two more times before being informed of his Miranda rights and taken into custody.
The officer claimed that Timberlake had told him, "I had one martini, and I followed my friends home," during the traffic stop. "This determination was based in part on the undersigned's training and experience in detecting intoxication, administering field sobriety tests, and having been involved in numerous DWI cases," the officer wrote in the complaint.
In an arraignment on June 18, the "SexyBack" performer was charged with one count of driving while drunk, per court documents. He spent the night in custody before being released without bond.
A source with knowledge of the situation previously told E! News that Timberlake was at dinner with friends before his arrest.
"As he left the restaurant, there was a patrol car seemingly stationed near the restaurant," the insider shared. "He was stopped and arrested. Nobody was hurt."
