Hollywood icon Sharon Stone is proving she's as tough as the characters she's played on screen. The 66-year-old actress recently shared a striking elevator selfie on Instagram, revealing a prominent black eye during her Turkish vacation.
"This trip has been tough; but I'm tougher," Stone captioned the image, which showed her sporting a plunging black top beneath a white-patterned pantsuit. The post quickly garnered concerned reactions from fans and fellow celebrities alike.
Emmy winner Niecy Nash, Beverly Hills socialite Nikki Haskell, and MSNBC political analyst Molly Jong Fast were among those expressing support in the comments section.
Stone later addressed the incident in a follow-up video, explaining, "I've been in so many hotels and so many countries that I got up in the middle of the night to pee, and didn't know where I was. And [I] smacked my face on the marble."
The "Basic Instinct" star reassured fans, saying, "No, nobody did anything to me and yes, I'm just fine." She added with characteristic humor, "You should see what I did to that marble floor!"
Despite the mishap, Stone emphasized she's "having a great time" and "being welcomed very beautifully" in Turkey. She shared a glimpse of her luxurious accommodations, posting a photo of her hotel room's backyard oasis complete with lush trees and a pool.
The vacation incident comes on the heels of Stone's appearance at the Knights of Charity Gala in Cannes on July 22, where she dazzled in typically glamorous fashion. It also follows her recent casting as the main antagonist opposite Bob Odenkirk in the highly-anticipated action sequel "Nobody 2," set to hit theaters on August 15, 2025.
Stone's resilience in the face of adversity is nothing new. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she opened up about her near-fatal stroke in 2001, which led to a grueling recovery period and significant financial losses.
"I had a death experience and then they brought me back," Stone revealed. "I bled into my brain for nine days, so my brain was shoved to the front of my face."
Despite the challenges, Stone has emerged with a renewed outlook on life. "If you bite into the seed of bitterness, it never leaves you. But if you hold faith, even if that faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive," she said. "So, I live for joy now. I live for purpose."
