Machine Gun Kelly, has revealed that he has been sober for almost a year following a stint in rehab. During an appearance on the "Dumb Blonde" podcast on August 5, he shared, "I'm completely sober from everything. I don't drink anymore. I haven't drank since last August."

Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, explained that his path to sobriety began after his European tour in 2023. He chose to keep his rehab stint private, confiding only in those closest to him. "I didn't tell anybody outside of the closest to me," he said. "That was my first time I ever went to rehab. They just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it."

His journey has been challenging, involving consultations with multiple mental health professionals. "I met with a lot of psychiatrists, some who gave up on me, and many therapists who did the same. But I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is and have made peace with it. It's a constant tightrope walk," Kelly revealed.

Throughout this process, Kelly has received significant support from his fiancée, actress Megan Fox, and his daughter Casie. He emphasized the crucial role Fox has played in his recovery, stating, "Megan has for sure been extremely helpful in dealing with the kind of psychological withdrawals that come with sobriety." He added, "I love that I'm clear when I look at the person I love. I'm really happy that I'm clear when my daughter and I are having our conversations."

Fox's belief in him and his daughter's concern were instrumental in his decision to get sober. Reflecting on a painful memory, Kelly recalled, "One of the biggest things that killed me in that relationship was when Casie would be like, 'Dad I know you're high.' That is like the ultimate sign of just disappointment in yourself."

Kelly's relationship with Fox, whom he got engaged to in January 2022, has experienced ups and downs, but her unwavering support has been vital. "Megan saw who I truly was and she was just waiting for that to be able to come out," he said.

Kelly also discussed how his sobriety has improved his personal relationships. "That's been a huge reward for me," he noted, "and I give a lot of props to everyone around me for never quitting before I got to this point, because I really hope that I'm a lot more of a pleasure to be around."

As he continues his journey, Kelly embraces the difficulties ahead with a sense of acceptance and self-forgiveness. "I continue to embrace that this journey is gonna be hard for me, but I accept it and forgive myself," he concluded.
