Concern grows among Justin Bieber's former associates as the singer navigates a complex period in both his personal and professional life. "He is facing a lot of different demons right now," a source close to Bieber told People. "He's making some really poor decisions lately, further impacting friendships, money, and business."
The 31-year-old artist recently made headlines after publicly severing ties with his fashion brand Drew House. In a since-deleted Instagram Stories post on April 10, Bieber wrote: "I Justin Bieber am no longer involved in this brand. Drew House doesn't represent me or my family or life." He's reportedly launching a new clothing line called SKYLRK instead.
This announcement follows a series of self-reflective social media posts where Bieber expressed feelings of unworthiness. "People told me my whole life 'wow Justin u deserve that' and I personally have always felt unworthy," he shared on March 13. "Like I was a fraud."
Among the challenges facing the two-time Grammy winner are his past association with Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is facing an upcoming trial, and his strained relationship with former manager Scooter Braun, who announced his retirement in 2024.
The Hollywood Reporter published an article on April 16 claiming Bieber was left millions of dollars in debt after canceling his Justice Tour in 2022. According to their sources, the singer received a $40 million advance and still owes approximately $20 million to tour promoter AEG.
"Seeing him disintegrate like this... it's watching the embodiment of someone not living their purpose," a former team member told THR. "He's lost. There's no one protecting him because there's no one there willing to say no to him."
Bieber's representatives strongly refuted these claims. "This is just clickbait stupidity based on unnamed—and clearly ill-informed—'sources,' disappointed that they no longer work with Justin," his rep stated to People. "As Justin forges his own way forward, these unnecessary stories and inaccurate assumptions will continue."
In January 2023, Bieber sold his entire music catalog for $200 million to Hipgnosis Songs Capital. THR reported that this deal, originally set at $140 million but negotiated higher by his team, was intended to provide "financial security" for the singer's future.
Meanwhile, Bieber continues to share candid thoughts online about personal growth. "I got anger issues too, but I wanna grow and not react so much," he wrote on March 22, alongside photos of himself. In another post that day, he reflected: "I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic."
While speculation about his wellbeing continues, his team remains focused on protecting his image and supporting his path forward, emphasizing that negative narratives won't deter the singer from "staying committed to following the right path."
