Florida Panthers player Carter Verhaeghe and model Casey Engleson married on Saturday, July 27, at the Four Seasons in Palm Beach, a location close to their hearts. Engleson, a former Elite Management model, shared that Palm Beach holds special memories for the couple. "When we first started dating, we'd take scenic drives along A1A to Palm Beach and thought it was so beautiful. Getting married there brought back the best memories from those early days."
Their love story began in 2021, and after two years together, Verhaeghe proposed on August 4, 2023, in St. Lucia. For their wedding, the couple envisioned a weekend dedicated to spending time with their closest family and friends. The celebration started with an impromptu beach day and a rehearsal dinner at Renato's, an iconic Palm Beach restaurant. They hosted a welcome party afterward, complete with a cigar bar featuring custom C+C cigar labels and a gelato cart.
On the day of the wedding, guests and the bride and groom joined in a pickleball tournament, accompanied by a coffee and mimosa bar. The ceremony itself, planned by 59 and Bluebell, was intimate and chic, featuring lush, unique florals, dark green velvet draping, and elegant green and gold table lamps. Engleson walked down the aisle in a high-neck, A-line lace gown by Pronovias Atelier, inspired by Grace Kelly's wedding dress, to the sound of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" played by a string quartet.
The reception was equally stylish, with 130 guests enjoying a plated dinner that included roasted cauliflower salad, braised short ribs, Chilean sea bass, and mushroom pasta. The couple made their grand entrance to Verhaeghe's goal song, "Turn My Swag On" by Soulja Boy. Engleson later changed into a v-neck, mermaid-style wedding gown with a corset bodice and floral lace underlay.
The party continued late into the night, with espresso martini shots and late-night bites on the dance floor. The evening concluded on a sweet note with a five-tier vanilla cake topped with dark chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries. Engleson called the day "a dream come true."
