Brittany Mahomes has scored a touchdown when it comes to her recovery. Five months after revealing she fractured her back, the former soccer player—who announced she's expecting baby No. 3 with husband Patrick Mahomes in July—shared that she's taken a major step in her healing process.

In an August 19 Instagram Story, Brittany stated, "First time to back squat in probably over a year since dealing with my back injury." "Felt sooooo good!"

The 28-year-old shared footage of herself doing the exercise in an orange workout outfit alongside the message. She also shares a daughter, Sterling, 3, and a son, Patrick "Bronze," 20 months old. The videos were provided by the actress's trainers, Kirsty Rae and Betina Gozo Shimonek.

Her teachers were also thrilled with her development; Betina wrote, "So proud of how hard you keep working, even during pregnancy and with two kids!" above her own story.

Kirsty, for her part, stated that she reached the milestone because she was consistent, saying, "It took months of hard training with @betinogozo and me focusing on pelvic floor/deep core, but she steadily and safely got here today with zero pain."

When Brittany initially disclosed that she had broken her back in March, it occurred while on a family vacation. According to the University of Utah Health, pelvic floor complications—which frequently follow childbirth and can cause lower back discomfort, loss of bladder control, and other symptoms—were the cause of the injury sustained by the Sports Illustrated Swim model.

"Just a daily reminder to please take care of your pelvic floor once you have children. Really," Brittany joked at the moment on Instagram. "From: A girl with a fractured back."

Furthermore, Brittany returned to the gym some time ago, even though she may only be starting to do squats again.

"I'm finally fully recovered and back to doing the things that I've always been able to do," Brittany stated to E! News in May. "I'm staying on top of my health."
