Taylor Swift has set a new record! The 34-year-old "August" singer made history during her Eras Tour by performing her eighth show at London's Wembley Stadium on August 20, surpassing Michael Jackson's record for the most nights played by a solo artist at the venue during his Bad tour in 1988.
During her performance, Swift shared her excitement with the crowd, saying, "You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour. We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it," as reported by BBC News.
This show marked the end of the European leg of her Eras Tour. Swift was joined onstage by Bleachers' frontman Jack Antonoff, 40, and British singer Florence Welch, 37. Swift and Antonoff performed "Death by a Thousand Cuts" from her album Lover and "Getaway Car" from Reputation, with the two artists standing back-to-back while playing their guitars. Welch and Swift also performed their song "Florida!!!" together for the first time.
Reflecting on the tour and her collaborations, Swift told the audience, "I think a lot about why I'm lucky enough to do a show like the Eras Tour, and it's because I've been fortunate enough to find incredible friendships that have been creatively collaborative." She expressed her gratitude for working with Antonoff, whom she described as one of her "best friends in the world." The songs they performed, she noted, are some of her "favorite ones that we've done together."
Swift and Antonoff have a long history of musical collaboration, including hits like "Cruel Summer" and contributions to her Grammy-winning albums 1989, Folklore, and Midnights. Antonoff also co-wrote and produced Swift's 2022 hit "Anti-Hero."
Swift will soon return to the United States for more Eras Tour shows, starting with a performance at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on October 18, where she'll be joined by Gracie Abrams.
