King Charles III has some excellent news to share. The British Monarch was questioned about his health amidst his ongoing cancer treatment as he was visiting with the family impacted by the knife attack in Southport that claimed the lives of three small children.
As he stated, "I'm not too bad," according to Express. The 75-year-old was given an unidentified cancer diagnosis in February, and this update follows that diagnosis. Since then, Charles has been receiving therapy, but he has only infrequently updated the public on his condition.
Back in May, Charles said he had lost his sense of taste as a result of his chemotherapy treatment when speaking with British Army veteran Aaron Mapplebeck at the Army Flying Museum. He did not say whether the results will last.
Charles had just returned to his public duties when he visited the Museum. Even though he had retreated after receiving his original diagnosis to give himself more time for healing, Charles went to the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre in London on April 30 with Queen Camilla in tow.
On April 26, Buckingham Palace announced the King's return to public appearances and stated that His Majesty is "extremely grateful to his medical team for their continued care and expertise."
The royal family's appreciation for the world's continuous support was also conveyed by the palace. After all, Kate Middleton was receiving treatment for an unidentified type of cancer at the same time as Charles' diagnosis.
"Their Majesties remain deeply grateful," said the statement, "for the many kindnesses and good wishes they have received from around the world throughout the joys and challenges of the past year."
Charles and Kate both had a vacation from public appearances early this year, but in the last several months, they have both made more appearances. In July, Kate went to Wimbledon with her spouse, Prince William, and she also made an unexpected appearance in a film for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
In the video released prior to the August 11 Closing Ceremony, the Princess of Wales commenced, "From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB."
The royal family has had ups and downs in 2024, including Princess Anne's terrifying accident in June that sent her to the hospital for a while, but they still have each other to rely on.
Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York, said hello in an interview published June 3, "I think family unity is key. I love that the royal family is all supporting each other and carrying on."
