Julia Roberts' love for Paris shines brightly! Recently, after Lancôme launched its stunning campaign for the new fragrance La vie est belle L'Elixir, Roberts, 56, took to Instagram to reflect on the experience. As the face of the campaign, she shared her thoughts on filming with the talented director Damien Chazelle.
"Walking along the rooftops of Paris with the amazing Damien Chazelle and a fancy hot water bottle. Behind the scenes for @lancomeofficial," Roberts captioned a behind-the-scenes photo. The image, posted on September 3, shows Roberts arm in arm with the La La Land director, clutching a white object, while the crew works in the background.
This project marked the first collaboration between the two Oscar winners, and it was a memorable one. "Working with Damien was an absolute delight," Roberts mentioned in a press statement. "We quickly found our groove and shared a sense of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. I hope we get to collaborate again."
The campaign video captures Roberts dressed in a ballgown, stepping into an elevator on her way to a party. She then escapes the crowd, swaps into a sleek black suit, and retreats to a rooftop. According to Lancôme, the video "portrays Julia Roberts in a beautifully poetic, defining moment, as she chooses her own path instead of conforming to others' expectations."
The press release further describes how Chazelle's cinematic vision "immortalizes Roberts as she gazes over Paris from the Arc de Triomphe, savoring the thrill of being in control of her own narrative."
As a longtime Lancôme ambassador, Roberts also offered some advice to her younger self in an interview with PEOPLE last December. "Stand tall. Everything will work out fine, and resist the urge to overpluck your eyebrows," she said.
This latest campaign comes just two months after Roberts and her husband, Danny Moder, celebrated 22 years of marriage. To mark the occasion, Roberts posted a sweet throwback photo of the couple sharing a kiss, captioning it with, "TWENTY TWO YEARS."
