Country Music Association (CMA) , an organization devoted to promoting  country music and its artists, including musicians, songwriters, producers, and engineers. This years CMA awards, The 58th Annual CMA Awards, will broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20 from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on ABC. The nominees include Post Malone, Cody Johnson and Lainey Wilson. This years nominations have caused uproar with some social media users suggesting that Beyoncé, the Cowboy Carter singer, was snubbed.

The album “Cowboy Carter”  did Incredibly well on the charts. It launched at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums, Americana/Folk Albums and Top Album Sales charts. Beyoncé is the first Black woman ever to have led the Top Country Albums list, dating to its January 1964 inception. She said, “I’m honored to introduce so many people to the roots of so many genres. I’m so thrilled that my fans trusted me. The music industry gatekeepers are not happy about the idea of bending genres, especially coming from a Black artist and definitely not a woman.”

“This album has been over five years in the making,” Beyoncé wrote of the project on Instagram a few months ago. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed…and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of Country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

With the announcement of the CMA nominees, most social media users believe Beyoncé not being nominated is unfair. “Beyoncé not getting one single CMA nomination is a choice and they chose violence,” one user wrote. “Beyoncé didn’t get any CMA nomination. Not even for Texas Hold ‘Em. It’s gonna be a long day on this app.”

“Beyoncé’s impact on country music can not be denied & is not validated/ invalidated by the CMA’s. Her commitment to pushing boundaries and breaking barriers in music (& bringing others along to reap the benefits) is beyond legendary in itself. She already won, f**k them,” an X user commented. One angry fan wrote, “The voting/selection committee at the CMA some salty mfs. Snubbing Beyoncé when “Cowboy Carter” was one of if not THE best country album this year? Everyone at CMA shall Begin to cough in 3 days…”
