After months of public speculation and legal disputes, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have officially finalized their divorce. A Florida judge declared the couple divorced and single on September 10, 2024, after they reached a confidential settlement agreement covering spousal support, division of assets, and custody of their two daughters, Willa, 4, and Delphine, 2. This marks the end of a highly publicized split that began in 2023 when Jonas filed for divorce, citing that their marriage was “irretrievably broken”.

Jonas, 35, and Turner, 28, were married for five years, after tying the knot in a secret Las Vegas ceremony in 2019. The couple, who met through Instagram in 2016, had long been regarded as one of Hollywood’s golden pairs. However, tensions arose last year when Jonas filed for divorce without Turner’s immediate knowledge, reportedly informing her of the decision through media reports.

Despite an initial amicable front—both stars shared identical statements on Instagram expressing mutual respect—the split quickly took a contentious turn. Turner sued Jonas for the wrongful retention of their daughters’ passports, demanding their return to England, where she intended to raise them. Jonas, who was on tour with the children in New York, contested this, leading to a brief custody battle.

However, following mediation, the two parents reached a settlement, agreeing to co-parent their children. The court ruled that their parenting plan was in the best interest of the family, signaling a commitment to prioritize their daughters despite the split. Turner and Jonas were granted joint custody, allowing both parents to maintain a role in their daughters’ lives.

With the legal chapter behind them, both Jonas and Turner are now officially single. Turner is reportedly dating British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, while Jonas has also moved on. Their focus, however, remains on co-parenting their children as they adjust to life post-divorce.

This conclusion brings a relatively quiet end to what could have been a prolonged and acrimonious legal fight, a positive outcome for all parties involved.
