Prince Harry spent his Friday evening in Carpinteria, California, supporting Santa Barbara County First Responders by attending the One805LIVE! concert. The event, hosted by actor Kevin Costner, was aimed at raising funds for local fire, police, and sheriff departments. Proceeds from the concert went towards essential equipment and mental health resources for the first responders.

During the event, the Duke of Sussex took the stage alongside the night's honoree, Loren Courtney, a Santa Barbara County air support pilot. Praising Courtney's 22 years of military service and over 10,000 hours of flight time, Harry acknowledged the sacrifices the pilot had made, often missing time with family to serve the community.

After joking about Courtney's youthful appearance despite being 65, Harry asked, "Why do you still do what you do?" Courtney responded, "I love it. I love doing it for Santa Barbara County. Whether it's putting out fires, performing rescues, or patrolling, it's all about keeping people safe."

When asked to share a memorable experience, Courtney recounted a dramatic search-and-rescue mission in Colorado. He helped save a group of skiers, including one with a severe head injury. After five difficult attempts, the skier was rescued, later spending a year in rehab. "He eventually recovered, got married, and even climbed the Grand Tetons to propose to his girlfriend," Courtney said.

Prince Harry, amused, quipped, "You didn't have to rescue him again, did you?" He then praised Courtney and other first responders, saying, "You are one of the many heroes here tonight. People are alive because of you, and families are reunited thanks to your efforts. Thank you."

Another honoree was musician Kenny Loggins, who received the "Heart of the Community Award" for his philanthropic contributions to Santa Barbara County. The event featured performances by artists like Pink & Dallas Green, Joe Bonamassa, and the Santa Barbara Symphony.

Prince Harry, who previously served as a helicopter pilot during his time in the British Army, attended the One805LIVE! fundraiser last year alongside Meghan Markle.
