At the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards in Nashville, country music icon Miranda Lambert took a reflective look at her two-decade-long career. In a candid conversation with Heather McMahan on Live From E!, Lambert offered advice to her younger self, wishing she had enjoyed the journey more.
"I would tell her to 'slow down a little bit,'" Lambert said, acknowledging that her determination and tunnel vision toward success sometimes caused her to miss out on appreciating the moment. She lightheartedly added, "Take a chill pill, have another Tito's, and roll through it," referencing her signature drink of choice.
Lambert, who has long been a champion of women in country music, expressed her eagerness to collaborate with more female artists in the future, having recently enjoyed a "magical" duet with Kelly Clarkson on The Kelly Clarkson Show. They performed Lambert's new single, "No Man's Land," and a cover of Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe."
The night was also a personal victory for Lambert, who accepted the Country Icon Award, a testament to her influence in the genre. During her acceptance speech, she humorously credited "years, tears, beers, and Tito's" for helping her through her career, thanking her fans for their unwavering support.
Her husband of five years, Brendan McLoughlin, was by her side, as the couple walked the red carpet together. Lambert's reflections showcased her growth, both as an artist and as a person, with a renewed focus on savoring each step of her successful career.
