Windsor Castle Estate, home to Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, was the site of a burglary last month, with intruders stealing two vehicles, police confirmed. The incident occurred near Adelaide Cottage, the primary residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, adding to concerns about security on Crown Estate grounds.

Thames Valley Police reported receiving a call about a break-in on October 13, just before midnight. The burglars entered a farm building on the estate and made off with a black Isuzu pickup and a red quad bike. They fled to a nearby town, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.

This is not the first breach at Windsor Castle in recent years. In 2022, a man posing as a priest infiltrated Victoria Barracks, spending a night eating and drinking before being removed by police. Months earlier, on Christmas Day 2021, a 19-year-old armed with a crossbow trespassed on the estate and was promptly arrested.

The royal family has been navigating other challenges this year, with both Kate and King Charles diagnosed with cancer earlier in 2024. In a recent interview, Prince William described the year as "the hardest of my life" but praised his wife and father for their strength. Kate completed her chemotherapy in September, while King Charles resumed public duties in April.

Despite heightened security and personal difficulties, the family remains resilient, though incidents like the recent burglary underscore the need for more robust protective measures.
