Beloved Spider-Man star Tom Holland has made his first big move outside of acting with the launch of his production company Billy17, in partnership with his brother Harry Holland and Will South. The trio has signed a producing deal with Sony Pictures, marking a new chapter in their collaboration.

The first project from Billy17 under this new deal is an original feature titled Burnt, with Rodney Rothman (co-writer of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) writing the screenplay. Plot details are under wraps, but it’s envisioned as a starring vehicle for Holland.

Along with Burnt, Billy17 is also adapting the best-selling novel by Graeme Simsion, The Rosie Project, for TriStar Pictures. This will be produced in association with Matt Tolmach and Michael Costigan under Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films banner. Other projects in development include an adaptation of Teddy Wayne’s novel, The Winner, in which Holland will star.

Tom Holland expressed his excitement about the new venture, stating, “I’ve had an incredibly happy and successful relationship with Sony Pictures for almost a decade, so they felt like the perfect partner to launch our production company with. It’s been an ambition of mine to take this step for some time now, and we’re incredibly excited to bring entertaining, and rewatchable movies to the big screen.”

Tom Rothman, Chairman & CEO of Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group added, “Tom, Harry, and Will are bursting with cool ideas, and have the zeal to follow through on them. “Sony is lucky as hell to be extending our already immensely successful relationship with Tom, and our ongoing work on the franchises we have together, to a new era which will take advantage of the trio’s producing skills, in wonderful addition to Tom’s extraordinary acting abilities.”

The deal extends the close relationship between Holland and Sony, which began with Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and has since seen the release of the successful Spider-Man trilogy and the video game adaptation Uncharted. The most recent film in the trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home, grossed $1.9 billion globally to become one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

He is repped by WME and Sloane, Offer, Weber, Dern, and Tom Holland reps for Shelter PR. From the momentum seen so far, it cannot be denied that Billy17 stands out as one of great promise for a film icon yet to come.
