Jamie Foxx's 57th birthday celebration at the upscale Beverly Hills restaurant Mr. Chow took an unexpected turn when he was struck in the face by a thrown glass during a physical altercation. According to Foxx's representatives, the incident occurred Friday night and left the actor needing stitches. "Jamie Foxx was at his birthday dinner when someone from another table threw a glass that hit him in the mouth. He had to get stitches and is recovering," the spokesperson stated.

The Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) confirmed receiving a call about a possible assault with a deadly weapon at approximately 10:10 p.m. However, after a preliminary investigation, they determined the assault was "unfounded" and instead classified the incident as a physical altercation between parties. While the police documented the battery, no arrests have been made, and the matter remains under investigation.

Foxx addressed the situation on Instagram over the weekend, sharing his thoughts and gratitude. "The devil is busy... but I'm too blessed to be stressed," he wrote in a quote card. In the caption, he added, "The devil is a lie. Can't win here... Thank you to everybody that prayed and checked on me... When your light is shining bright, they try to bring you darkness, but they don't know that you're built for it."

Despite the incident, Foxx took the opportunity to promote his new Netflix comedy special, Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was... "Number 1 on @netflix! If you haven't checked it out, please go check it out. It's from my heart and my soul," he wrote.

The comedy special marks a significant milestone for Foxx, following his recovery from a health scare in 2023 involving a brain bleed and stroke. During the special, Foxx shared an emotional moment with his audience, saying, "You have no idea how good this feels. I was fightin' for my life, but I'm here in front of you."

Foxx's recent projects also include co-producing the documentary Luther: Never Too Much, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and appearing in the comedy film Not Another Church Movie.
