Julian Lennon, the son of Beatles legend John Lennon and Cynthia Lennon, has shared a sobering update about his health after undergoing emergency surgery to remove a malignant mole. The 61-year-old musician and photographer took to social media to emphasize the importance of regular health checks.

In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Julian recounted how his Los Angeles dermatologist discovered two concerning spots on his skin—one on his shoulder and another on his forearm. One of them was confirmed as melanoma, a dangerous form of skin cancer.

"Instead of going home to put my Christmas tree up, I flew directly back to Los Angeles for surgery," Julian shared. Despite the abrupt change of plans, he expressed relief that the operation was a success. However, biopsy results are still pending.

This isn't Julian's first brush with skin cancer. Five years ago, he underwent a similar procedure to remove a mole from his scalp. Reflecting on that experience, he recalled the fear that came with the diagnosis. "From one moment of joy to the fear of feeling that I may be gone, it's a rollercoaster," he said.

Julian used his platform to urge others to prioritize their health. "It only takes a short while to get checked, and it may save your life," he wrote. His message is a timely reminder during the holiday season when many neglect their health amid the festivities.

In addition to advocating for awareness, Julian's post resonated with fans who applauded his transparency. "Life is too short," he emphasized. "Don't make it shorter by ignoring your health."

Julian, known for hits like "Too Late for Goodbyes," continues to inspire with his resilience and positive outlook. As he looks ahead to a long and healthy life, his message is clear: take care of yourself—it's the ultimate gift you can give to those who love you.
