The Princess of Wales, 42, has lent her voice to a heartfelt introduction for the TV broadcast of her Together at Christmas carol service, held on Dec. 6 at Westminster Abbey. In her voiceover, Kate reflects on the spirit of the holiday season, calling it "a time to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all."

In her message, Kate highlights the essence of Christmas, saying, "It is when we pause from the pressures of daily life that we create space to live with an open heart, embracing love, kindness, and forgiveness—core elements of the Christmas spirit."

She continues, "The Christmas story urges us to empathize with others, recognize our shared vulnerabilities, and appreciate the importance of both giving and receiving understanding. Above all, it inspires us to choose love over fear—love that listens, is kind, forgiving, and brings joy and hope."

These words were originally penned in a letter from Kate to the 1,600 guests who attended the service and similar events at 15 venues across the U.K. She emphasizes, "Love is the greatest gift, not just at Christmas but every day. Across the U.K., countless inspiring individuals are offering support to those in need. This carol service celebrates them and reminds us to shine for one another, as we are each other's light in both joy and sadness."

Kate was joined at the event by Prince William, 42, and their children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6—along with her parents Carole and Michael Middleton, and siblings Pippa and James Middleton, accompanied by his wife, Alizée Thevenet.

The broadcast, Royal Carols: Together at Christmas, airs on ITV1 and ITVx in the U.K. on Dec. 24 and streams on BritBox in the U.S. and Canada. The show celebrates remarkable individuals, such as single parents from the Worcestershire Gingerbread Group, young carers aged 8 to 13 supported by Go Beyond Cornwall, and members of the intergenerational Sankofa Songsters choir from a care village in Chester.

Narrated by Kelly MacDonald, the special features traditional hymns, readings by Prince William and other notable figures, and performances by artists including Gregory Porter, Paloma Faith, and Olivia Dean, alongside a ballet performance by Royal Ballet students.

Kate's heartfelt message and the concert exemplify the joy, love, and unity that define the holiday season.
