The loss of Paris Hilton's house has devastated her. The reality star revealed that the destructive wildfires that are currently destroying parts of Los Angeles County caused her Malibu home to burn down.
Paris posted the caption, "Heartbroken beyond words," on Instagram on January 8 accompanied by a news report about the fires. "Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience."
The 43-year-old went on to say that she and her husband, Carter Reum, dreamed "of building a lifetime of memories" with their 14-month-old daughter London, and that they had "built so many precious memories" in the house, including the first steps of their 23-month-old son Phoenix.
"While the loss is overwhelming, I'm holding onto gratitude that my family and pets are safe," Paris said. "I am sending my thoughts and prayers to all the families impacted by these fires. To everyone whose homes, memories, and cherished pets have been lost. My sympathies go out to those who are still in danger or who are grieving more significant losses. The destruction is beyond comprehension. It is incredibly tragic to realize that so many people are waking up today without the place they called home.
According to the Simple Life star, her 11:11 Media Impact Team will be contacting nonprofits to inquire about how they can assist communities affected by the wildfires.
"We're committed to offering help as soon as possible," she continued, "and making a meaningful difference for those who need it most."
Paris also wrote to "the brave firefighters and first responders," expressing gratitude for their risk-taking efforts to keep the people of Los Angeles safe.
"Sending so much love and strength to all of you," she wrote in a note. "LA, we're all in this together. Tonight, give your loved ones a slightly closer hug. You can't predict when things will change."
Paris, regrettably, is one of many people whose homes have been destroyed. Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, who graduated from The Hills, were among the first to announce that their home in Pacific Palisades, along with the home of Spencer's parents, had burned on January 7.

On TikTok, the 41-year-old shared a video of the destruction with the caption, "Nightmare Come True."
"When your house burns down and you have nothing, your parents' house burns down, and they have nothing," he stated in a subsequent video in which he processed the damage. "The only thing that might help you feel better is this. "A bag of bagels."
Spencer went on, "Obviously I'm in shock,"
