Ellen DeGeneres has returned to her former haunts. The former talk show host was seen out and about in Montecito, California, where she and her wife Portia de Rossi sold several homes last year, two months after making headlines for their alleged move to England.
Although Ellen is familiar with the seaside town, her gray hair made her look nearly unrecognizable on the Jan. 14 outing. The comedian, however, stayed true to her laid-back look by dressing in a dark pullover, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
Is Ellen returning to Hollywood as a result of this sighting in the United States? Not exactly.
According to SFGate, she told the audience at a comedy show in Santa Rosa, California, in July, "This is the last time you're going to see me." "After my Netflix special, I’m done."
The comedian also discussed her fallout from the public eye following claims of a toxic workplace at The Ellen DeGeneres Show in her September For Your Approval special.
He joked, "I got kicked out of show business," 66. "You cannot be cruel and work in entertainment. No, you will be expelled. There are no cruel people in show business.
According to reports, Ellen and Portia, who have been married since 2008, have since relocated to a rural area of England. They were seen in November with friend Natalie Imbruglia in Burford, a small town northwest of London.
The "Torn" singer shared a video on Instagram showing the longtime couple enjoying drinks at The Farmer's Dog, a local bar owned by former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson.
In a joint post with the bar, Natalie wrote, "The way a good pub night should be," "Acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends."
Ellen also deviated from her usual golden pixie cut by sporting noticeably darker hair during the private evening out. However, the Finding Dory actress once clarified that she wasn't always blonde.
"You have to color your hair frequently because it grows so quickly," Ellen said in a 2019 episode of her talk show of the same name. "When you watch the show, it always looks different because I'm coloring it all the time. There are days when the tone is different.
Additionally, the dye job can occasionally be detrimental.
Regarding a specific hair incident, she recalled, "My hair was falling out." "My hair would literally fall out when I touched my head. I believe my hair was so ashamed that it didn't want to anything to do with my head and said, 'I'm getting out of here.'"
