Tommy Fury has finally opened up about the real reasons behind his split with Molly-Mae Hague, addressing long-standing rumors of infidelity. The former Love Island couple, who had been together for over five years, announced their breakup in August 2024. Their relationship had been closely followed by the public, especially after the birth of their daughter, Bambi, in January 2023, and their engagement later that year. Despite speculation, Fury has emphatically denied the accusations of cheating.

In an emotional interview with Men's Health, the 25-year-old boxer revealed that the real reason for the breakup was his struggle with alcohol addiction. He shared, "We broke up because I had a problem with alcohol and I couldn't be the partner that I wanted to be anymore. It kills me to say it, but I couldn't." Fury explained that his addiction started after an injury in 2019, which prevented him from training and left him feeling lost. "I'd go out and just drink and drink and drink... Most nights I would get black-out drunk. I think that's what really took its toll on me," he admitted.

Fury also clarified that cheating was never part of the equation. "Cheating was never a thing. You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing. You need to get a grip of it," he stated. According to him, alcohol became his way of coping with the emotional pain and frustration of not being able to train or work, a situation he found deeply challenging. He added, "If you're in the same spot as me, where you just think that it's going to cure all your problems, it doesn't. You wake up even worse and you want to drink more to try and feel happy again. That's the cycle of it."

Despite the public backlash, Fury has found a way out of his destructive behavior. "I've got myself out of that now," he said, expressing his desire to move forward. However, he shared his frustration over the media's portrayal of the breakup. "There's been so much s--- in the papers every single day for the past six months, but if it's not come from my mouth or Molly's mouth, it's complete and utter bulls---," he stated. He also wished that people would have taken the time to consider his struggles. "Not once did anyone ask how I was," Fury lamented.

Looking ahead, Fury is focused on raising his daughter, Bambi, and continuing his career. "Whether I do the right thing or do the wrong thing, people are still going to hate me. As long as my family loves me. I just want to do my fights, earn my money, and look after my daughter," he said. Though Molly-Mae has chosen to keep the specifics of their breakup private, she previously expressed her hope that Tommy would speak out when he was ready.
