Michelle Duggar, Jinger Duggar's mother, is the one person she can always rely on. The former cast member of 19 Kids and Counting, who is expecting her third child with husband Jeremy Vuolo, went to that person when she began to struggle with eating disorders and body image problems that she linked to her early adolescence.
On the January 15 episode of the Unplanned podcast, Jinger, who has two daughters with Jeremy, Felicity, age 6, and Evangeline, age 4, acknowledged, "I was so insecure for so many years, which led me to some bad places." I had trouble not eating enough, even with the way I was thinking about food and such. It was because I believed I was overweight, even though I wasn't.
The family matriarch acted quickly to support her daughter after the People Pleaser author finally confided her inner agony to Michelle, who has been open about her own battle with bulimia.
Jinger recalled, "She was really sweet when I spoke to her, and the way she handled it was so helpful." She devised a strategy: "Simply text me what you eat each day." I'll text you what I eat, and I'd love to be held accountable as well. And that was quite endearing since I was having a lot of difficulties at the time and felt ashamed of my difficulties.
She went on, "She's the sweetest person in the world, so even though I didn't want to open up to her, I knew I could."
The reality star recently described a holiday get-together with the extended Duggar family, which led to a lot of name confusion as Jinger and Jeremy await their imminent arrival.
On the January 1 episode of the Jinger & Jeremy Podcast, she stated, "I think it was so sweet for Felicity and Evie to get that time with their cousins because they really, really love them." Half of the names are forgotten by them. Half of the cousins, it seems to me, also forget each other's names. The older ones, like the aunts and uncles, don't use each other's names. There are simply too many to list.
