Trace Cyrus, son Billy Ray Cyrus, recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt and emotional message addressing his father's well-being. Trace's post, shared on January 22, came just days after Billy Ray faced widespread criticism for his performance at President Donald Trump's Liberty Ball during the inauguration.

In his open letter, Trace, 35, reflected on his admiration for Billy Ray, whom he considered his role model since childhood. "Since my earliest memories, all I can remember is being obsessed with you and thinking you were the coolest person ever. The day you adopted me was the happiest day of my life," Trace wrote alongside a throwback photo of the duo on stage. Billy Ray adopted Trace in 1993 after marrying his now ex-wife, Tish Cyrus.

However, Trace expressed concern over how much his father has changed, stating, "Sadly, the man that I wanted so desperately to be just like I barely recognize now. It seems this world has beaten you down, and it's become obvious to everyone but you." He added that his siblings, including Miley, Noah, and Brandi Cyrus, share his worries.

"Noah desperately has wanted you to be a part of her life, and you haven't even been there for her. That's your baby girl. She deserves better," Trace continued. "We are all hanging on to memories of the man we once knew, hoping for the day he returns."

Trace also opened up about his personal journey, revealing he has been sober from alcohol for over a year and a half. He extended an offer of support to Billy Ray, saying, "I don't know what you're struggling with exactly, but I think I have a pretty good idea, and I'd love to help you if you would open up and receive the help. You know how to reach me."

The emotional plea followed Billy Ray's widely criticized Liberty Ball performance, during which he experienced technical difficulties while performing "Achy Breaky Heart" and "Old Town Road." Despite the issues, Billy Ray defended his performance, stating, "I wouldn't have missed the honor of playing this event whether my microphone, guitar, and monitors worked or not. I was there for the people, and we had a blast."

Trace concluded his message with a mix of love and concern: "As I write this with tears in my eyes, I hope you realize this message only comes from a place of love and fear that the world may lose you far too soon."
