Pop icon Katy Perry is set to hit the road again with her much-anticipated Lifetimes Tour, marking her first global tour in over seven years. Announced on Monday, the tour will kick off in Mexico City in late April before heading to the United States in May, followed by stops in Australia, Canada, Europe, and South America. The U.S. dates include Chicago (May 12), Los Angeles (July 15), and New York City (August 11), with tickets going on sale on January 31.
In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone, Perry described the tour as "Disneyland on wheels," promising fans an energetic "dance party" filled with hits from her career. "We're giving BPM. We're giving celebration. We're giving unity. We're giving dance," she said, emphasizing that the show will be a feast for the eyes and ears.
The setlist will span her entire discography, including tracks from her recent album 143 and 2020's Smile. Perry also teased that fans will have the opportunity to influence her setlist. "There will be a section that we have created for some songs that are the deepest cuts that have never seen the light of day," she revealed.
Reflecting on her motherhood journey, Perry, who shares 4-year-old Daisy Dove with fiancé Orlando Bloom, said her experience has brought new perspective and joy to her performances. "It's like Christmas again when you see it through a child's eyes," she shared with E! News. To accommodate parents, she plans to start her shows earlier.
Beyond nostalgia, Perry aims to deliver unforgettable singalong moments for fans. "I have a responsibility to the audience to give them that singalong, to create that moment," she told Rolling Stone. Her goal is to balance fan favorites with deep cuts and new songs, making each performance unique.
The Lifetimes Tour follows Perry's Las Vegas residency, Play, which ran from 2021 to 2023, and her 2017 Witness tour. In recent months, she performed at events like Rock in Rio and France's Le Gala Des Pièces Jaunes. As Perry herself says, concertgoers should prepare for "a dance party with all their favorite songs and then a few new ones. Be hydrated and wear a sensible shoe!"
