Carrie Underwood is being told to take the wheel by Katy Perry. The singer of "Woman's World" expressed her true feelings over the American Idol winner's return to the show to fill her vacant judge's seat.

In an interview that was released on January 30, Katy stated, "She was born on that show." "I believe she is capable of steering it."

She and her former co-stars Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were only able to "metaphorically feel" what it's like to compete, she observed. Regarding Carrie, Katy continued, "She really does know." We've been in their position as artists, but she's experienced every day. Therefore, I believe she will have a lot to share with anyone who is open to hearing it."

How does the singer of "Before He Cheats," who sang "America the Beautiful" at President Donald Trump's inaugural ceremony on January 20, feel about the new role? She is excited to provide her knowledge.

Carrie stated on SiriusXM's Music Row Happy Hour in August, "I feel like I've been so blessed to obviously be so rooted in country music, but I've been able to be a part of many other genres of music as well." "I like to think that I am versatile and, hopefully, when I listen to people come and audition, I can have any lens I need to put on in terms of what music I’m thinking."

"I think I can be honest and constructive, but still kind," she added, acknowledging that she will adopt a different stance from Simon Cowell's critical judging style. And since it's dreams and people are coming in, I believe that's the main goal. From that point on, you become a part of someone's story."

Additionally, Lionel, Carrie's new panelist, feels that the storytelling element is crucial to the singing competition series.

In August, he told E! News, "It's not someone we have to get used to." "And the fact that she's from American Idol, and she has a great story."

"What a great judge," he continued. We can now say, "We understand how you feel," without having to elaborate. We understand your feelings as artists; however, we've never been in that oval that says, 'American Idol.' She's been there, done that."
