The 14th Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) International Awards celebrated global cinematic excellence, with “Better Man,” the Robbie Williams biopic, emerging as the evening’s standout. The film won both Best Film and Best direction for Australian director Michael Gracey, which highlighted the films’s profound effect on the global cinematic sphere.

 

“Better Man” offers a distinctive portrayal of British pop icon Robbie Williams, utilizing computer-generated imagery (CGI) to depict Williams as an anthropomorphic chimpanzee. This creative decision makes it different from classical biopics such that it has a special narrative experience for the audience.

In the acting awards, Zoe Saldaña prolonged her awards season run, winning Best Supporting Actress for her performance in “Emilia Perez. This award comes on the heels of her Golden Globe win, and thereby helps to solidify her as a power player in the business.

Nicole Kidman further enhanced her stellar CV by taking home her fourth AACTA International Award, for Best Lead Actress in “Babygirl. Her performance in the movie has been warmly welcomed, demonstrating a wide range of her acting capabilities and her depth as an actor.

Guy Pearce helped up his chances for the awards on a Best Supporting Actor with, “The Brutalist,” and Ralph Fiennes received a Best Lead Actor award for his amazing work in, “Conclave. Jesse Eisenberg won the Best Screenplay award for “A Real Pain”, and it paved the way on a successful season so far.

For television categories, “Shōgun” was voted Best Drama Series, and “The Bear” was given Best Comedy Series. Comedy icon Larry David was honored for the completion of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” last season by the Best Actor in a Series award. Elizabeth Debicki’s portrayal of Princess Diana in FX’s “The Crown” scored her Best Actress in a Series, along with the Golden Globe Award.

The A”CTA International Awards still recognise and celebrate great work in the movies and television, rewarding the range of talents that makes up the global entertainment industry.
