PSY is still rocking his classic suit—but fans noticed that something else seemed different.Thirteen years after his hit song “Gangnam Style” took the internet by storm—cementing itself as the most-watched YouTube video of 2012 with over a billion views—the Korean rapper found himself answering for a change in his appearance.

Indeed, after the 47-year-old, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, posted side-by-side photos of himself in 2006 and 2025, some followers pointed out his slimmer figure in the more recent pic and took to the comments to share their concerns about his recent weight loss.

“What’s going on bro,” one user commented on the Feb. 14 Instagram post, “Are you not going to take care of yourself like this?”

While some appeared concerned for the singer's well-being, others were less than thrilled with his new body, which could change his iconic persona as he gets ready to co-star with Megan Thee Stallion in a new K-pop competition series on Apple TV+ called KPopped.

One follower commented, "You're so rude; you keep losing your original character."

Another user added, "Wow, look at the slim one," echoing this sentiment.

The "That That" singer responded to each individual comment with a simple "Sorry" and a smiley face emoji in response to the unexpected criticism.

What specifically was he apologizing for? He explained that he was merely apologizing "because they don't want me to lose weight, lol" in response to a user who questioned his frequent replies.

However, some fans swiftly defended PSY, while others did not hold back in expressing their disapproval of his weight loss.

One comment said, "I don't understand why you have to apologise," adding that it doesn't matter if you gain weight or lose it; as long as you're healthy and happy, that's no one's business.

Others even took the discussion to X, the former Twitter, to urge the American Music Awards winner and others to prioritize themselves and tune out the outside world.

In a post on February 15, a user asked, "Can you imagine expecting someone to apologize for taking care of themselves?" "Always put yourself first."
