Rapper Yella Beezy, known for his hit song "That's On Me," has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the 2020 shooting death of fellow rapper MO3. The 33-year-old, born Markies Deandre Conway, was taken into custody on Thursday and booked into the Dallas County Jail after a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to court and jail records.

The arrest came after a Dallas County grand jury formally indicted Beezy on Tuesday, charging him with "capital murder while remuneration." The indictment alleges that Beezy "intentionally and knowingly" participated in the killing of Melvin Noble, known as MO3, by hiring Kewon Dontrell White to carry out the murder in exchange for financial compensation. The indictment further states, "Pursuant to said agreement, Kewon White did then and there intentionally and knowingly cause the death of (Noble) by shooting (him) with (a) firearm."

MO3 was killed on November 11, 2020, in a midday shooting on Interstate 35E in Dallas. According to police reports, White exited a dark sedan armed with a firearm, approached MO3, and chased him on foot before firing multiple shots. The rapper was struck and later died at a local hospital. A bystander was also hit but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

White was arrested a month after the shooting and is currently serving a nine-year sentence for firearm-related charges linked to the case. Meanwhile, Beezy's indictment has surfaced on social media, revealing that authorities believe he provided financial compensation for the murder. Texas law considers capital murder with remuneration an especially severe crime, punishable by life imprisonment without parole or the death penalty.

Beezy and MO3 were known to have an ongoing feud, which included diss tracks and online threats. However, it is unclear if their past conflicts played a direct role in MO3's killing.

Beezy first gained recognition with his 2017 mixtape "Lite Work, Vol. 2," featuring the hit "That's On Me," which reached No. 25 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Over the years, he collaborated with artists such as Chris Brown, Ty Dolla Sign, Young Thug, and Gunna. His last album, "Bad Azz Yella Boy," was released in August 2022.

If convicted, Beezy faces either life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
