For the removal of his tattoos, Pete Davidson is investing a lot of time and money. The former Saturday Night Live star disclosed that he has already spent six figures lasering off his ink collection, which consisted of 200 designs at one point.
"It’s a pretty uncomfortable amount of money to disclose," he said in an interview with Variety issued on April 23. "I've already spent about $200K, and I'm about 30% finished. Thus, it will be awful.
In the upcoming ten years, the 31-year-old is probably going to spend more money.
"I started during COVID in 2020, and it’s going to take me another 10 years," Pete stated. In addition to my hands and neck, my arms are essentially gone. I still need to work on my back and torso, though.
"I have to schedule it in between work because it's a six-week healing process each time you get one removed. Each tattoo takes 10 to 12 sessions. That's 60 weeks of your life right there on just one tattoo to remove. So, it's pretty horrible." But why endure all the pain? "I used to be a drug addict, and I was a sad person, and I felt ugly and that I needed to be covered up," said Pete, who recently sought treatment for addiction and mental health issues. "And I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos, but whenever I look at mine, I remember a sad person that was very unsure."
Removing his tattoos is the Big Time Adolescence star's method of "starting fresh."
"I don't want to be reminded that I was a f--king drug addict every time I look in the mirror." You have SpongeBob smoking a joint on your back because of that," Pete continued. "They should have meaning."
