Kylie Kelce is brushing up on her royal etiquette after realizing she may have gotten Kate Middleton's title wrong when inviting the Princess of Wales onto her podcast.

The Not Gonna Lie host addressed the mix-up during the Oct. 1 episode, a week after she invited the royal to join her for a conversation about motherhood and field hockey.

During the Sept. 24 episode, Kylie had said, "Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don't know. We got a couple things in common."

She also pointed out that their husbands had already crossed paths, referring to Prince William's appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by Kylie's husband Jason Kelce and his brother Travis.

After listeners pointed out the naming issue, Kylie admitted she had been unaware that calling the royal "Princess Kate" could be considered inappropriate.

"I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine, Princess Kate was offensive," Kylie said. "I didn't know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly. I apologize for the mistake. I would like to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected."

She then addressed the royal directly, adding, "Princess Catherine or the Princess of Wales, I apologize. I will get that sorted immediately starting now."

The confusion is understandable, considering how widely "Kate Middleton" is still used by the public. It was the name associated with Catherine before her marriage to William and remains a familiar way of referring to her. However, her official title is now Catherine, Princess of Wales, following William's appointment as Prince of Wales in 2022.

Despite the invitation, Kylie made it clear she isn't expecting the Princess of Wales to actually show up.

"I don't think that anybody owes me anything. Let me emphasize that," she said. "I would love to speak to the Princess of Wales. Okay? Because of many reasons. She is an incredible woman. She has children. She played field hockey. She battled cancer. There are so many things that I would love to speak to her about."

Then came the reality check: "Do I think she has time to hop on this podcast? No, I do not. I don't think that."
