Liam Hemsworth is thinking back on his training as a White Wolf. The actor discussed how he handled fans' reactions to the abrupt recasting months after he debuted his rugged transformation as Geralt of Rivia, a role that Henry Cavill had previously played in The Witcher's fourth season.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly that was released on September 25, Liam, 35, stated, "There was quite a bit of noise and I had to put that aside."  It began to divert attention.  I've dealt with that kind of thing a lot in the past, and, you know, I love acting, telling stories, and making movies.  I simply don't want any of that to influence how I tell the story I'm attempting to tell.

Indeed, when Henry, 42, revealed that Liam would succeed him as the white-haired witcher in 2022, Netflix viewers were taken aback.  Henry subsequently stated that he would not be returning to the DC Universe, despite rumors at the time that he had retired the character to play Superman again.

Additionally, Liam discovered a new method to concentrate on his monster hunting training as he adapted to his new role for the upcoming season of the show, which premieres on October 30.

The Hunger Games alumnus went on, "I jumped off social media and the internet most of last year."

Liam said he "was as surprised as anyone" about his offer to play Geralt.

In the same interview, she told EW, "The other really great thing about Liam is he takes this really, really seriously."  "I believe he was aware that he was taking on significant responsibility.  He felt that having certain things [for] continuity was crucial, as were things he could create to help his Geralt become self-sufficient.

There are others besides Lauren who have been open to Liam replacing Geralt.  Actually, a number of franchise actors expressed their unbiased opinions about the recasting, including Michelle Yeoh, who plays swordmaster Scían in The Witcher: New Blood.

“I think Henry did such an amazing job,” she told E! News in December 2022. “Let’s see what Liam has to bring, right? That's how it is.”
