The billion-dollar action franchise John Wick is heading to consoles in a new big-budget video game starring Keanu Reeves, it has been announced.

Currently titled Untitled John Wick Game, the project was unveiled during PlayStation's February 2026 State of Play showcase, where an official trailer confirmed Reeves will return to voice and portray the legendary hitman.

The title is being developed by Saber Interactive, the studio behind Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC. It is described as a AAA production created in collaboration with the filmmakers behind the original movies.

Reeves reprises his role as John Wick, also known as "Baba Yaga", the feared underworld assassin whose quest for vengeance has driven the film series to more than $1bn in global box office earnings.

Developers say the game will feature an original story set within the established universe, designed for mature audiences and blending cinematic storytelling with intense close-quarters combat. Familiar faces from the films are expected to appear alongside newly introduced characters.

Saber Interactive said it was working closely with key creative figures from the franchise to ensure the adaptation captures the precise fight choreography and stylised action that define the films.

The reveal was one of several major announcements during Sony's presentation. The company confirmed remakes of the original God of War trilogy are in development, alongside an unexpected side-scrolling prequel titled Sons of Sparta, which launched immediately after the showcase.

Fans of the survival horror genre were also given a fresh look at Silent Hill: Townfall, set on the fictional island of St Amelia, while a 30th anniversary collection of platform classic Rayman was announced with updated features for modern players.

Reaction online to the John Wick game was largely positive, with many praising the pairing of franchise and developer.

Industry analysts described the project as a natural fit, combining a globally recognised property with a studio experienced in large-scale action titles.
