Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes are among the headline artists set to perform for BBC Radio 1’s highly anticipated Live Lounge Month 2024. The month-long event will begin on September 30 with a performance by Cabello, followed by Mendes on October 7. Both artists have a history of captivating Live Lounge performances, with Cabello expressing her excitement, calling it “one of [her] favourite places to perform.”
Joining them are a diverse range of talents, including indie rockers Fontaines D.C., R&B artist Michael Kiwanuka, and pop stars Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards from Little Mix, who will make solo appearances. Other acts like Glass Animals, FINNEAS, and beabadoobee will also grace the iconic stage, delivering their original tracks and unique cover songs.
This year’s Live Lounge Month stands out with the introduction of ‘Live Lounge Extra’, where select artists such as Cabello, Mendes, Jungle, and Tom Grennan will perform additional tracks. These exclusive performances will air on Radio 1’s New Music Show hosted by Jack Saunders.
Celebrating 25 years of incredible performances, the Live Lounge continues to be a must-watch, with past highlights including iconic covers by Amy Winehouse and Adele. This year’s lineup promises to live up to the tradition of surprise covers and acoustic renditions, offering fans a unique glimpse Into their favourite artists' versatility.
All performances will be available to stream on BBC Sounds, and video footage will be accessible via BBC iPlayer and YouTube. Live Lounge Month will run every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday through October, with the presenters of Radio 1’s show, Rickie, Melvin, and Charlie, expressing their excitement for this year’s offerings.
