Taylor Swift claimed the highly coveted Video of the Year award at the 2024 MTV VMAs for her hit "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone. The 34-year-old superstar edged out fierce competition, including Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Eminem, and SZA, during the ceremony at UBS Arena.

In her acceptance speech, Swift expressed gratitude to everyone involved in creating the music video, especially acknowledging her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce. She highlighted how meaningful the creative process was, saying, "Directing and writing this video was an incredible experience, thanks to the amazing team, including Ethan Hawke, Josh Charles, and my brilliant cinematographer, Rodrigo Prieto."

Swift also gave a special shoutout to Post Malone, reflecting on the fun they had making the seemingly somber video. She shared a personal moment, revealing that Kelce added some extra joy to the shoot. "Whenever I'd call 'cut,' I'd hear cheering from across the set, and it was always Travis. Everything he touches brings happiness and magic," she added.

She wrapped up her speech by thanking her loyal fans, the Swifties, for their continued support. "To the fans, I'm always looking for ways to thank you. You've made my life and career what it is, and I can't thank you enough for voting for this award."

Before concluding, Swift encouraged everyone eligible to register and vote in the upcoming presidential election, shortly after publicly endorsing Kamala Harris.

The night was a triumph for Swift, who led with 12 nominations, including this top prize. Ariana Grande was also a strong contender for her visually striking "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" video, inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Other nominees included Billie Eilish with her nostalgic "LUNCH," Doja Cat's bold "Paint the Town Red," Eminem's star-studded "Houdini," and SZA's dreamy "Snooze," rounding out an impressive list of competitors for the evening's top honor. The 2024 MTV VMAs aired live from New York's UBS Arena.
