The casting choices in Anora and The Apprentice have earned them nominations, with Kneecap's recognition for original screenplay further boosting the indie scene.
In a year marked by diversity, Kneecap, the Irish-language film about a rap trio's rise to fame, stands out. While many were surprised by Washington's lack of recognition and the snubbing of Luca Guadagnino's films, the BAFTA nominations reflect a robust mix of genres, from musicals to body horrors and biopics. The BAFTA Film Awards this year, which will take place on February 16, promise to be one of the most competitive and diverse ceremonies in recent years.
