In a harmonious blend of talent from American Idol and The Voice, country musicians Alex Miller and Emily Ann Roberts have joined forces for a spirited duet titled “More Country Than You,” set to release on January 24, 2025.

The Intersynchronistic collaboration has raised fan speculation regarding whether there may be a romantic pairing between the two artists. Addressing these rumors, Miller, 21, clarified, “Maybe we get along too well because I have people on social media asking if I’m going to marry her! Emily is very happily married. And I’m certain it will be very upsetting to Chris [Sasser], her husband.

Roberts (age 26), known as a semifinalist of season 9 of The Voice, also expressed Miller’s view, and stressed that they both admired traditional country music. “Alex and I have always been kindred spirits because we’re both young kids with hearts that beat for traditional country music,” she shared.

The duo's camaraderie and mutual respect are evident in their latest track, which playfully explores the friendly rivalry between their home states—Roberts hailing from Tennessee and Miller from Kentucky. There’s a lot of competition between the two as to whose is more country,” Miller stated. This theme runs through the song and lyrics such as, “I’m bakin’ biscuits and gravy, ain’t my ma’s way  I think I’m a little more country than wh’ you.

The song was co-written with acclaimed songwriter Bill Whyte and came together seamlessly in just two hours. Miller reflected on the writing process, stating, “It was one of the most fun writes I’ve ever had. Every line just fell where it needed to be.”.

Leading up to the release, both artists have been actively engaging with fans on social media. Miller posted a social media clip on TikTok, asking the fans to participate in the country duet fun that the country “#NowitjustinCountryTwins,” “#CountryGoals”, “#CountryDuets” has been generating.

Looking ahead, both artists express enthusiasm for future collaborations. Miller also broached more duets to come, including one with a “country music legend. He also stated as a goal to do “More Country Than You” on stage live at the Grand Ole Opry with Roberts one day.
