Former US President Bill Clinton, 78, was admitted to Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C., on December 23, 2024, after developing a fever. Angel Ureña, Clinton's deputy chief of staff, announced the news, stating, "He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving."

While further details about his condition were not provided, sources close to Clinton reassured the public that the situation is not urgent, with one telling NBC News that the former president is "awake and alert" and is expected to recover soon. There are also reports suggesting dehydration might have played a role in his hospitalization.

This latest health scare adds to a history of medical challenges for the former president. In 2004, Clinton underwent quadruple bypass surgery after extensive heart disease was detected, followed by another procedure in 2010 to open a clogged artery. He was hospitalized in 2021 for six days due to a urological infection that developed into sepsis. These incidents prompted him to adopt a vegan diet and prioritize healthier living. Reflecting on these changes, Clinton said in 2016, "I might not be around if I hadn't become a vegan."

Clinton, who served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1993 to 2001, has remained active in public life. Recently, he campaigned for Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential bid and released a memoir, Citizen: My Life After the White House, in November. Speaking at the Democratic National Convention this year, he remarked on his advancing age, saying, "I have no idea how many more of these I will be able to come to... Lord, I'm getting old."

Despite health setbacks, Clinton has continued to champion diplomatic and humanitarian causes and remains a prominent Democratic Party figure. His time in office, marked by economic prosperity and high approval ratings, solidified his influence as a statesman.
