Disney is once again raising the price of magic. The entertainment giant announced on Wednesday that ticket prices at its U.S. theme parks will increase during peak holiday seasons such as Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve beginning in 2026. The company confirmed that one-day tickets for Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, will soon exceed the current top rate of $199.

While the prices for tickets through October 2025 will remain unchanged, the upcoming hikes mark another step in Disney's ongoing strategy to balance visitor demand with rising operational costs. At Disneyland Resort in California, five of the seven ticket tiers will see modest increases of up to 3 percent, while the lowest-tier ticket remains at $104. Currently, a single-day Disneyland pass during the holiday period costs around $224, making it one of the most expensive amusement park experiences in the world.

Despite the price jump, Disney insists that its commitment to guest experience remains unwavering. "Our commitment to creating magical experiences for everyone remains at the heart of what we do—and that will never change," the company said in a statement to Reuters.

Industry analysts note that Disney's ticket adjustments often reflect broader economic trends, from inflation to surging travel demand. The company has faced increasing criticism in recent years over affordability, with fans arguing that family trips to the "Happiest Place on Earth" have become out of reach for many middle-class households.

Still, Disney parks continue to draw millions annually, with new attractions, immersive experiences, and major events maintaining the company's reputation as a world leader in entertainment. As the holiday season approaches, visitors will once again weigh the cost of Disney's magic against the memories it promises.

Whether the price of wonder can ever be too high remains a question Disney seems confident the world will keep answering with a yes and a ticket purchase.
