The Phoenix Suns acquired three first-round picks from the Utah Jazz on Tuesday in exchange for a 2031 unprotected first-round pick The three first-rounders the Suns are receiving include the least favourable firsts in 2025 of Cleveland or Minnesota, 2027 of Cleveland, Minnesota, or Utah and 2029 of Cleveland, Minnesota, or Utah.

The least favourable of 2025 picks will likely be the Cleveland pick seeing as how they're currently the best team in the NBA. The moves are amidst a bunch of rumours following the Suns in connection to a trade for Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler, who has been giving his current team a flurry of headaches on and off the court.

The Suns currently remain the favorite (-120) to land Jimmy Butler. The 14-year veteran has a current cap hit of $48.7 million for the year and is set to earn $52.4 million next season. Butler will be an unrestricted free agent after next season.

Phoenix is looking for some help as they are currently 21-21 and sitting at 10th in the Western Conference. Reports have come out over the past few days that the team is still trying to shop center Jusuf Nurkic and his current $18.125 million cap hit.
