In Riga on Sunday, France suffered a seismic upset as they fell to Georgia in the Last 16 of EuroBasket. Led by Tornike Shengelia and Kamar Baldwin, the Georgians managed to pull off an 80-70 win to qualify for the Quarter-Finals for the first time. After Finland's 92-86 victory over Serbia on Saturday, it was Georgia's turn to shock the world by eliminating the French team in the Last 16.

Co-hosts Finland saw their Group B winning streak at EuroBasket 2025 ended at three matches, as they were beaten 81-78 by Lithuania at Nokia Arena in Tampere.

Slovenia booked their spot in the Quarter-Finals of EuroBasket 2025 after fending off a late surge from Italy, as Luka Doncic shone with 42 points and 10 rebounds. Italy, who at the last EuroBasket knocked out Serbia in the Round of 16 and lost to France in the Quarter-Finals after coming within a whisker of victory, came up against an extraordinary Luka Doncic in the first quarter.

Spain's EuroBasket 2025 campaign could not have got off to a worse start as the defending champions began their tournament with an 83-69 loss to Georgia on Thursday in Cyprus.

Caitlin Clark will not return for the remainder of the Indiana Fever's season after being sidelined by a right groin injury. The 2024 Rookie of the Year shared her disappointment in a statement, saying she had been working daily with the single goal of getting back on the court. Clark admitted that "disappointed isn't a big enough word" to capture her feelings, but she thanked fans for their continued support, noting how much joy they brought her and the team despite the setbacks. She added that the Fever had grown stronger through adversity and expressed hope that they would close the season by securing a playoff spot.

Host nation Finland survived a real scare on the opening night of EuroBasket 2025 in a local derby with Sweden, eventually securing a 93-90 victory at the Nokia Arena in Tampere as the sides began their respective Group B campaigns. The two rivals' preparations for the tournament could not have been more different, as Finland beat Belgium and Poland twice each, while Sweden lost all four of their warm-up matches, including a heavy loss to Portugal and a narrow defeat to Finland's conquerors Poland.

The last EuroBasket 2025 match at the Nokia Arena in Tampere ended in disappointing fashion for co-hosts Finland, as they were hammered 91-61 by Germany to confirm their third-place finish in Group B, as the Germans top the group with five wins from five.
