Max Verstappen secured a dominant victory at the Canadian Grand Prix, claiming his sixth win of the season and marking Red Bull's 100th Formula 1 triumph.

Starting from pole position, Verstappen maintained his lead throughout all 70 laps at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, securing his fourth consecutive victory without encountering significant challenges.

"I'm very happy right now," the Dutchman said after the race.

"It wasn't a straightforward race because the tyres were not getting in their window. It was very cold today compared to Friday. We were sliding around quite a bit. But we made it work. And to win again, the 100th grand prix for the team, is incredible.

They started lining up the champagne glasses inside the Hendrick Motorsports garage with 30 minutes remaining in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The No. 24 Chevrolet Camaro wasn’t going to win the most prestigious endurance race in the world — the specialized “Garage 56” entry wasn’t eligible for any class victories — but simply completing a full 24 hours was good enough to declare NASCAR’s massive effort to return to Le Mans for the first time since 1976 a smashing success.

Saturday turned out to be a great day for Max Verstappen as he secured pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix, his first time starting at the front of the grid in Barcelona.

Making the session even better for the Dutchman was the fact that his Red Bull teammate and world championship rival Sergio Perez didn't even make Q3, finishing 11th.

Despite Perez's struggles, Verstappen felt that the car was in brilliant shape.

"The car was really good, it was on rails and really enjoyable to drive today," he stated afterwards.

"I love coming to Barcelona, as I love the track and I love the fans.

While Max Verstappen was able to celebrate another victory at the Monaco Grand Prix, it was a frustrating afternoon for Checo Perez as he started at the back of the grid and could only progress to 16th.

The Monte-Carlo street circuit is notoriously difficult to overtake on and Perez really struggled behind slower cars, especially as many stayed out for longer than expected before pitting.
