Nelson Piquet will have to open his wallet after being found guilty by a Brazilian court for racist comments against Lewis Hamilton.

The triple Formula 1 world champion (1981, 1983 and 1987) will have to pay a fine of five million Brazilian reais (953,000 dollars, 18 million Mexican pesos) after language used to describe the Mercedes driver in June 2022.

Max Verstappen's father-in-law (father of his girlfriend, Kelly Piquet) has been charged by four human rights groups, including Brazil's National LGBTIQ+ Alliance, with a fine of 10 million reais for his words for alleged moral damages.

According to Eddie Jordan, a former Formula One (F1) team owner and friend of the Schumacher family, Michael Schumacher's wife, Corinna, has been like a prisoner due to the intense pressure of keeping her husband's health secret.

Corinna is referred to as Michael's "guardian angel," and she has overseen the effort to respect his wish for privacy as he recovers from his ski crash ten years ago. In a heartfelt interview, Eddie Jordan said that the constant battle and pressure have left Corinna almost like a "prisoner."

The Spaniard finished Sunday's race in third place but was demoted to fourth when he was handed a post-race 10-seconds penalty for an infringement as he tried to serve an earlier five-second penalty in a pit stop.

The stewards judged that a mechanic touched the car with a rear tyre jack before the five seconds had elapsed and so the penalty had not been served correctly.

Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz slammed the performance of their cars as "not good enough" after the Ferraris finished sixth and seventh in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Their lacklustre showing as they were beaten comprehensively by both Red Bulls, by Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso and by both Mercedes, left them frustrated and disappointed.

Leclerc started 12th on the grid after a 10-second penalty for taking a new electronic control unit. He climbed to seventh but was dissatisfied that he was unable to compete for the podium.

To say this Daytona 500 was a milestone race was an understatement — for Stenhouse and for NASCAR.
